2018 GENERAL RULES


The following rules apply to all divisions unless otherwise stated, check each division.

1. BOTH horse owner/lessee and rider/handler must be current members of AHAM. Each horse must be entered into the awards program to be eligible for year end awards.

2. AHAM dues must be paid in full before any points will start accumulating. All members are eligible for awards.

3. The Horse accumulates the points (in equitation the rider). If it is a registered Arabian or Half Arabian, a copy of the registration papers must be submitted along with the yearly fee into the awards program.

4. Only classes, which have a minimum of four horses, will count for points, including championships and regionals.

5. Horse/Rider must have competed in a minimum of 2 shows. Check Divisions....

6. Only shows in Region 16 (New England) to count towards points!

7. Each horse and rider combination will compete and be scored separately for high point awards.

8. Participants must submit score sheets monthly. Can put more than 1 event on score sheets.

9. The points for the year will End on October 31st and Must be received NO LATER than the 5th of November. Initial score sheets are provided. Please make copies.

10. The awards committee reserves the right to delete, add, or combine division awards as results warrant. Awards will be determined by participation. Ribbons may be awarded to eighth place in each division.

11. The committee reserves the right to audit points and eliminate from competition anyone who submits improper results.

12. Points will be published at the end of the season. All corrections MUST be made in writing to the point secretary within 14 days of issuing these standings. No Changes will be made after the 14 day period.

13. Juniors must wear properly fitted protective headgear at all times when mounted.

AHA ALL ARABIAN HORSE SHOW DIVISION RULES


Points from all AHA and USEF rated All Arabian Horse shows held in Region 16 will count.
Must be an AHA member through AHAM to accrue year end points. All other general rules apply.

Classes with 6 or LESS exhibitors -- receive half points.

Classes with OVER 6 exhibitors -- receive full points

True Regional Top Fives count towards points.

Nationals do not count toward points.

Do not need a copy of show program sent with points.

AHAM OPEN FUN HORSE SHOW DIVISION


In this division you do not have to own an Arabian or Half Arabian to compete, you just have to do the Following:

       1. Rider must be a paid member Prior to the start of the June Horse Show. Must be same Rider/Horse or Pony combination at both shows.

       2. Must show and be judged in the same competing division at Both shows. Shows are held June and Sept.

       3. Points will accrue from the 2 shows to determine the year end winners. Champion and Reserve at the shows will not add any points to year end, only points earned in actual classes. We will take care of the points for these 2 shows. You do not have to submit score sheets to point secretary.

       4. Points are: 1st - 7 / 2nd - 5 / 3rd - 4/ 4th - 3 / 5th - 2/ and 6th - 1. Classes with less than 4 exhibitors will receive half points.

DRESSAGE DIVISION


Scores will be accepted from the following competitions:
AHA/USEF Arabian shows-dressage classes, USEF/USDF Open Dressage Shows and Open Shows. All must be held in Region 16.

       1. A minimum of three scores from two judges at two different competitions must be submitted. Riders may submit as many scores as they like. Scores may be from any test at each level.

       2. Copy of test sheets must be sent to point secretary with the Dressage result forms, with % and Judges Signature.

VERSATILITY DIVISION


In this division you do not have to own an Arabian or Half-Arabian to compete. Open to
all Breeds. AHAM holds 3 clinics per year. You just have to do the following:

1. Rider must be a paid member at the first clinic of the year. Must be the same Rider/Horse or Pony combination and compete at all 3 clinics. AHAM will take care of points.

Participation counts toward year end. Placings in the judged classes offered will
also count toward year end. Classes run at the clinic will be pinned 1st thru 6th.

Points are: Participate – 5 points. 1st – 6, 2nd – 5, 3rd – 4, 5th – 2, 6th – 1.

AMBASSADOR AWARDS PROGRAM
For Arabians and Half Arabians and All Other Breeds


1. This program only includes horse related activities NOT included in any of our other awards programs. Activities to count must take place in Region 16 (New England) Only.

2. Points must be submitted on official point sheets and must be signed by the events secretary for them to count. Also MUST send a copy of the show program, with date, location, and time table are all that is needed.

3. Awards will be given annually at Year End Banquet. 5 Points for attending, 3 points for 1st, 2 points for 2nd and 1 Point for each other award.

SERVICE AWARDS


This award is earned by Volunteers (which are always needed) at our club events. Anyone may volunteer an hour or a few hours or the whole day- anytime helps out or club. It is the responsibility of the chairperson of each event to send in credit for the volunteers. Also please call the event person to let them know you would like to volunteer your time.

It is not necessary to be an AHAM member to receive points. So if your friend or parent wants to come with you and help us please do.

Awards are given annually at awards banquet.

Please take note that AHAM Open Fun Horse Shows, Ambassador, and Versatility Clinics have awards for Arabians, Half Arabians and All Other Breeds, so if your friend or friends do not happen to have an Arabian please bring them along and sign them up to accrue for points also.
